Good morning!

Its Monday and I heard from several people that Ike winds have taken out the power in Ohio and western PA.
That is CraZie!

I think we all just had the best nights sleep in 2 nights. How nice not to worry about the storm, the rain and the rising waters.

The Melbers here have been so wonderful and nice. For my brother who is just joining us, LOL-we are in a 7000 sq ft house that is hooked up to a built in generator that runs of the natural gas line. Its like every other day here except for the hum of the giant thing. They have had up to 20 staying here. Their motto is as long as there is floor space, they are not full.

I update this blog via my blackberry and all the pictures you see are taken with my 8330 Curve. I have been THE only one on the street who can receive all emails, texts and even get phone service! End of Verizon ad.

I hadn't seen what the blog looked until last night when Kelly powered up her PC. Pretty impressive work!

Matthew and all the kids seem very unaffected by all of this. Last night, he and Grant were playing tag after dinner and was just Grant's squealing with laughter! Seeing them both running around and having fun made me stop and think how really really fortunate we are to have made it through the storm unscathed.

The picture is of Bark and me laying here thinking about what today will bring. Cory's already over at the house throwing out more freezer stuff and airing out the house.

THANKS for sending IKE to Western PA. We lost power last night just as the Steeler game was beginning. Nevermind supper wasn't done - NOTHING interferes with the Steelers! Pat sat in his truck listening for the 2nd quarter then Alicia and I called him into the house to listen to our MP3 players. If you turn them on full blast and lay the ear buds near you it is reminicient of old days when families crowded around the radio listening to stories!

As of 3PM today we don't have electric or phone service. Some have said it will take another day or two to get service back. Seems the electric companies sent a lot of crews to Texas and now they are shorthanded up here!!!

No electric means no pump for water. Good thing our pool is full, clean, and clorinated. Made for some COLD bathing last night and this morning!

Just sharing in your experiences - something family should do every once in a while. Although a relaxing beach vacation with all the ammenities would be more to my liking!

Keep posting away!
